Latest from Lakefront - January 2026
Lots of events are about to happen at Lakefront - be quick and save your spot, Ekskäret trip, Philip's Birthday Festival, Christmas Preperations, ooh...and meet our lovely resident Michelle.
Monthly roundup
Hey friends, first things first - we wish you a happy New Year!
…and we hope you had some beautiful days during this winter break. We are all slowly but surely arriving back at our home and of course wanted to keep you in the loop with an update on what happened last month. At the beginning of December, we spent some time together at Ekskäret to strengthen our community bonds and work on Lakefront's vision. We also celebrated Philip’s birthday, hosted a Viking dinner and an immersive talk, and embraced the Christmas spirit by baking Christmas cookies and decorating the house together.
Latest Happenings
Ekskäret Island Community Trip
At the beginning of December, we enjoyed three inspiring days together on Ekskäret Island. Thanks to Monica, Daisy and Jan-Niklas's thoughtful organisation, our time together was filled with nourishment, connection and a shared sense of purpose.
Alongside the exquisite meals prepared by Fanny, our days unfolded across several dimensions: deepening bonds between community members, strengthening the connections that hold us together, evolving our community circles, and collectively exploring the journey of our Lakefront vision. It was a beautiful reminder of what becomes possible when we gather with intention — when we create space not just to be together, but to envision and build together.

Mini Birthday Festival
What a beautiful day we shared together to celebrate Philip’s Birthday Festival in our beloved home. Gathered with family, friends and the community we spent the day in co-creation, connection, and pure joy.
The day flowed through several activities, beginning with a Lucia-themed brunch where we shared a meal together. This was followed by afternoon co-creation sessions such as workshops, music, movement, meditation and more. The day closed with a community circle and kirtan.

Still some events and Christmas Preps
Resident Pamela von Sabljar held an immersive talk on ‘Let Life happen’ at Lakefront. Leo Wezelius and his friend Sebastian organized a Viking Long Table Dinner. We started implementing Tea with the Elders and enjoyed preparing for Christmas by hosting a shared Christmas crafting afternoon, decorating the tree, and exchanging our Secret Santa gifts.

Upcoming Events
Jan 16: The Elephant - a salon for what’s in the room

A salon created by our lovely Artist in Residence Dara Morgana.
The Elephant is a monthly salon for the conversations we're not having. The things we all see but don't name. The questions that are too big, too awkward, or too obvious to bring up at dinner. Not a lecture. Not a panel. Just a room and a question. We're not looking for answers. We're looking for honesty. To discover we're all holding different parts of the same elephant.
Come curious. Come willing to be surprised. This month's question: How do we act when the problem is bigger than any of us?
Jan 25: Listening to Nature’ Answers - a Nature Ceremony

Welcome to a ceremony in form of a nature coaching — a path into stillness, where nature herself becomes your mirror and your teacher.
The purpose of this ceremony is to rediscover calm, presence, and trust in your own inner voice — while also sensing the deep interconnection between your inner and outer nature.
Jan 28: Art as a verb - a 6-week journey into creativity

What if you didn't lose your creativity — you just forgot it was never about making things? What if art isn't for artists — but a way of being alive? Of relating to complexity, change, yourself, and others? The Nordic winter asks us to go inward. The roots of a seed do their most creative work in the dark. 6 weeks. A small group.
We'll practice paying attention differently — through morning pages, honest conversation, and tools from The Artist's Way, Rick Rubin, and the Inner Development Goals. Each session closes with sauna by the lake, letting what surfaces settle into the body. You won't leave with a painting. You'll leave with a practice. A way of moving through your life that was always yours.
Jan 30: First Impact Lab of 2026

Yeey, our Impact Lab is back - we will host our first Co-Working space this year! We looking very much forward to meet you again and of course are very excited to welcome some new, lovely faces. So, pack your back, bring your laptops, invite your friends and let’s connect and get inspired!
Resident spotlight
Meet Michelle: Lakefront resident since may 2025![]() | After more than a decade working in political engagement, research and mediation support in different conflict settings, Michelle joined the Lakefront Community. Guided by equity and a commitment to centring sidelined voices, her work spans peace processes and human rights, including most recently women’s rights in Afghanistan. “After years of working in environments defined by conflict and urgency, I had a deep wish to root in a community that values reflection, creativity, and shared humanity. Lakefront is giving me space to integrate those experiences, build with others, and imagine what comes next.” - Michelle |
