Monthly roundup

Hey friends! Here’s what’s happening at Lakefront right now! (besides this cool new newsletter format 😆)

The house has truly come alive big time at the start of the fall, two new 10 and 12 week long programs are live, we had our first wedding, a big dinner party, an immersive full community 2-day program, and lots of internal offerings.

Technical Bug

Did you apply for residency lately?

Unfortunately we discovered that there seemed to have been a technical error on our application site the last couple of weeks. If you did not receive a confirmation email, please try to apply again.

Latest Happenings

10 week program of inner development for outer change

Lead by Lakefront co-founder and resident Tomas Björkman, thought-leader and co-author of books like “The world we create” and “The Nordic Secret”. Lakefront’s new introductory 10 week program is based on work made my organizations such as the Inner Development Goals and Perspectiva. It has become a weekly highlight for us residents, and is planned to become a staple program that all new residents go through.

First Lakefront Wedding

Residents Laura and Stephen hosted their wedding at Lakefront with community and friends coming together to help out, host ceremonies, play music, and celebrate their love.

Community Party in the Green House

First big community dinner party in the Green house! Started off with some rituals and games, a lovely dinner, and then our friends came for some dancing. What a venue we have there!

An immersive 2-day full community program

With so much happening here since the start of the summer it’s been a whirlwind of residencies, events, guests and activities that we felt a need to as a community have a proper drop in. A small group of residents co-created an immersive weekend journey based on Joanna Macy’s four-step process “the work that reconnects”, basically the entire community showed up and what unfolded was pure magic. We’ll hopefully share more about it soon on our Substack.

Part of the group being lead in one of the sessions by resident Joanna Robins - facilitator and constellation work specialist - on using objects for collective sense-making around seeing where we are and where we are going.

Aliveness is through the roof

As our community reached a critical mass after the summer (35+ residents) and is now starting its journey of stabilizing and maturing as it keeps growing, resident engagement and offerings are flying!

Daisy our artist-in-residence hosting the intro of the 12 week program “The Artist’s Way” at Lakefront.

Here are some of the regular activities:

  • Monica offers meditations early morning

  • followed by Alexandre’s flow60 movement

  • Philip is hosting a light HIIT workout at lunch on the front lawn

  • Leo and Alex throws a group “Viking workout” at 5pm

  • We have rotating facilitators for each Monday’s house gathering

  • Priscilla hosts wine & cheese Salons every Tuesday evening to explore topics such as relationships, money, power, etc.

  • Every Wednesday we have a “relational space” with the purpose of connecting.

  • Thursdays now see Tomas hosting the 10 week program

  • Some Fridays Swan is hosting Contact Improv sessions followed by a sweet shabbat ritual to close the work-week and set intentions for the weekend.

  • Community chef and resident Paul cooks dinner for everyone four times a week and we gather to dine.

  • And Daisy (our artist-in-residence) just started up the 12 week “The Artist’s Way” program.

Upcoming Events

Oct 13: Full day inner development workshop

In this special gathering just before the IDG (Inner Development Goals) Summit, we’ll explore self-compassion as a powerful inner resource for leadership and systemic change. Rooted in neuroscience and the Inner Development Goals (IDGs), this immersive experience invites you into embodied practices that cultivate presence, courage, and inner clarity.

Oct 24: Impact Lab Friday #5

The popular community co-working day is back for a “peak-autumn” edition. Rumors are that there this time might be a small fair of residents showing and speaking about their work.

Resident spotlight

Meet Monica: Scientist-in-residence

Monica just joined Lakefront for our scientist-in-residence scholarship where she during her 6 months here will research the correlation between human-nature connection and systems change, and how we can move from a feeling of separation to reconnection.

“This Residency offers me the precious chance to move beyond theory and truly embody the practice of inner shift for outer transformation. Here I can become the change I wish to see for our Planet, and doing so alongside a community of incredible human beings.”
